Bishop Herro V Blair and Popular Educator George Goode Lead New Parents Alliance

Parents’ Alliance Jamaica (PAJ) recently announced the launch of its inaugural executive team. It will be led by Bishop Herro-Verne Blair, a renowned Minister of Religion, and Mr. George Goode, a school principal recently among the finalists of Lasco’s 2023 Teacher of the Year.

Since 2017, the founding members of PAJ have been devoted to championing the rights and well-being of parents and families in Jamaica.

The PAJ committee was established by CAP Media and Marketing Limited to organize a summer school for at-risk youth and their parents in Whitaker Mountain, St. Catherine.

Lascelle’s 2023 Principal of the Year, George Goode is service as Parents’ Alliance’s first President.

The newly appointed executive team will play a pivotal role in advancing the organization’s mission to unite parents into associations that value strong family units, promote family health and social care, educate and empower parents, foster wholesome environments for children, encourage positive parental practices, support struggling parents, and advocate for family-friendly public spaces and policies throughout Jamaica.

 

The Parents’ Alliance Jamaica Executive

Composed of a diverse group of seasoned professionals from various backgrounds, each member of the executive team possesses a deep passion for strengthening family bonds, advocating for family-friendly policies, and empowering parents and guardians. The team includes:

Chairman: Bishop Herro-Verne Blair      | Head of Projects: Major Robert Finzi-Smith

President: Mr. George Goode                    | Head of Welfare: Mrs. S. Taylor-Johnson

1st Vice-President: Mr. Aldane Maragh  | Secretary: Mr. Orrett Montague

2nd VP (Policy & Legal Affairs): Vacant  | Treasurer: Mrs. Shernette Campbell-Henry

Communication and Management Consultant, Mrs Bevenisha Moodie-Osawaru is Parents’ Alliance’s Communications Director

The Executive appointed Mrs. Bevenisha Moodie-Osawaru as Communications Director, and Miss Annakay Brooks was appointed as Parents’ Alliance Jamaica’s Administration Manager. 

The establishment of the executive team signifies a significant milestone for PAJ. Our organization is dedicated to promoting effective parenting and enhancing the well-being of our children and families. We remain steadfast in our commitment to these goals.
